MTC - All That Jazz: Reworks
[TINK002D]
MTC stands for "Music Takes Control". And what better name for the most extravagant party organisation in The Netherlands during the 80's and 90's?
Of the recent series of edits and remixes of our back catalog we picked out "All That Jazz" for the next release featuring reworks from Ka§par, Alkalino and Jepe (of Johnwaynes).
MTC's "All That Jazz" is the perfect track to take us back to the coolness of the 90's. Apache breaks, delayed sax and cool voice hits were the elements that allow each rework to flow in their own way. Ka§par delivered a modernized version of the original with reprogrammed breaks and additional percussion in 909 style the perfect fusion between the early UK jungle sound and modern house music. Jepe (also known from his previous project as Johnwaynes) is another of the remixers, who chose to keep the original feel of the track and added his own subtle touches. His rework reaches a dance floor level keeping the original Jazzy vibe through a smooth house beat. And at last but not least and well known for his disco edits, Alkalino surprised us with a really deep rework of "All That Jazz", a strong bass line and delayed chords bring us back to party like it's 1992.
MTC were responsible for some of the most well-attended parties using a broad range of arts and media to freely express themselves and introduce new music and night culture to open- minded audiences. Operating all over the Netherlands since 1982 as a party organisation MTC created a massive following and earned a well respected name that stands to this day.
Marcel Niehoff and Ted Langenbach two real gurus of club life were the minds behind this project. As artists their debut releases on TINK! Records were "Love & Seduction" and "All That Jazz / D-Vibe 2000". Both releases originated quite a commotion in the USA, UK, Spain, Italy and Holland, where they performed on several television and radio shows as well as on MTV.
The Reworks EP will be available on the 2nd of September and after that we will release the two original MTC EP's remastered and available for digital download.
